cosmetic acupuncture

Various factors influence your skin health, from hormonal imbalances & nutrition, to your environment. During your first consultation we discuss your main concerns and delve into your health history to address where the imbalances are stemming from.
You’ll then receive acupuncture to the body and face, leaving you feeling calm and relaxed as the nervous system is stimulated into its parasympathetic state.

Immediate results from increased blood flow and a relaxed nervous system will show in reduced puffiness, a glowing complexion and a general sense of calmness and clarity.

Results accumulate as the body builds up the effects of each treatment, balancing hormones, improving digestion, reducing inflammation & helping maintain a more balanced state of being (switching off your fight or flight).

After a series of treatments, the body (& nervous system) can regulate itself into a state of balance easier, for long-term results.

Benefits include
— reduced puffiness
— promotes lymphatic drainage
— restored fine lines and wrinkles
— increased hydration
— improved skin complexion
— reduced pigmentation and age spots
— managed acne breakouts
— reduced anxiety & stress
— improved sleep
— better digestion & reduced bloating
— increased wellbeing

How many sessions do i need?
Skin concerns are often caused by years of disharmony, so be patient with your treatments. During your initial consultation a full health history is taken which determines how many treatments may be best for you.

Depending on your skin concern and age, on average I suggest 6-10 sessions (once weekly) for the best results, allowing your body time to generate new collagen, restore fine lines and even skin tone. Gua Sha or facial cupping is provided after acupuncture to compliment your treatment.

Following these weekly treatments, a follow up treatment is suggested every 2-3 months to maintain results.

Can I get cosmetic acupuncture with Botox?
You must wait a minimum of 4 weeks after receiving botox, before having cosmetic acupuncture. But yes — you can get the immediate results of botox and the long lasting effects of cosmetic acupuncture.

Can I get Cosmetic Acupuncture while pregnant?
Although cosmetic acupuncture is relatively non invasive, I prefer not to treat pregnant woman with cosmetic acupuncture as a precaution. You can however get a nourishing treatment to support your pregnancy or prepare for birth.

Does cosmetic acupuncture hurt?
I use the smallest needles available, they are similar to the thickness of a strand of hair, ensuring a pain free treatment. In some areas you may feel tightness, or a hot sensation but often patients just feel calm and some fall asleep!
